The work we do with FTSE4Good, Sustainalytics and MSCI combines to provide a balanced range of information that assesses our environmental, social and governance performance.

We work closely with Sustainanalytics and MSCI on their environmenta l, social and governance ratings, to improve our understanding of their assessment criteria and where we can improve.

Carbon Disclosure Project

The Carbon Disclosure Project is a not-for-profit charity that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their impact on the environment.

Their vision is to help create a thriving global economy that works for both people and planet.

Carbon Disclosure Project helps assess our plans for climate change and the action we’re taking.

We were Rated C by Carbon Disclosure Project in 2018 and we’re working hard to improve our future responses

FTSE4GOOD Index Series

As a FTSE100 company, we are part of the FTSE4Good Index Series.

Set up by the FTSE Group in 2001, the FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong environmental, social and governance practices.

Our latest review was in June 2019.

Sustainalytics

Based in Amsterdam, Sustainalytics is a company that rates the sustainability of other organisations based on their environmental, social and corporate governance performance.

In October 2018 Sustainalytics classed us as an Outperformer

MSCI

Formerly known as Morgan Stanley Capital International, MSCI are based in New York. They provide a huge range of market and business analysis to investors around the world.

MSCI score companies based on their plans and behaviours in relation to issues including:

  • Climate change
  • Pollution and waste
  • Human capital
  • Social opportunities
  • Corporate governance
  • Corporate behaviour

In October 2019, MSCI gave us a BBB rating
