Drainage and Wastewater Management Plan

DWMP28

For DWMP28, we are checking and updating our plan, which is something we will do every five years. The timeline below shows how we will break down the five-year plan into key milestones.

DWMP28 Planning Timeline

DWMP28 will provide evidence that supports our business plans from 2030 to 2035, helping us decide where to invest.

It looks at how our wastewater systems, like sewers and treatment works, connect with other drainage systems such as surface water, road drains and rivers. This helps us and others plan how to manage catchments and protect the environment for the future.

Delivering DWMP28 milestones will help us build a strong and effective plan. Working with our stakeholders will guide its direction and support the development of best-value solutions.

Action Plan

How The Plan Is Made

1 We’re forecasting future demand and capacity to check whether our wastewater systems can continue to serve our customers effectively.

We’re exploring solutions to make sure our systems can handle future growth and stay reliable.

We’re working with stakeholders to deliver shared solutions that benefit customers and work for everyone.

What We Are Measuring

Defra’s DWMP28 Cycle 2 guidance asks sewerage companies to assess and report on a set of shared performance indicators, shown in the diagram below.

These help us understand current and future risks across our catchments and business. We’ll review these each year to track progress and measure the impact of our actions.

Sewer flooding

Water environment

Economy and community

* These are emerging or complex performance indicators.

Stakeholder Engagement - News Feed

We’re engaging early with stakeholders to help shape our DWMP by understanding your needs and ideas. Your input is vital to developing a plan that delivers long-term benefits for customers, communities, and the environment.

DWMP28 builds on the principle of working together to create solutions that support wider environmental and flood risk improvements.

If you have any suggestions on how we can work together to deliver DWMP28, please email us at DWMP@severntrent.co.uk.
