Severn Trent to begin sewer network upgrades in Worcester

Tuesday 17 May 2022

Severn Trent is investing £1 million in Ronkswood, Worcester to upgrade ageing sewer pipes in the area, providing customers with reliability for years to come.

Work will start on Monday 23 May and is due to be completed by early October, with work starting on Durham Road before moving onto other roads in the immediate area throughout the project.

To keep Severn Trent engineers and other road users safe, appropriate traffic management will be in place throughout the duration of the project.

Road closures will be in place when teams are working in a particular area, with short diversions in place using nearby roads.

Timothy Ip from Severn Trent, said: “Every so often, we need to carry out essential upgrade works on our sewer network and we with the aim of reducing the number of flooding incidents.

“This is why we are investing a significant amount of money in Ronkswood to make sure local residents don’t experience this in the future.

“If the team are working near your property, access to your driveway may be restricted temporarily. We kindly ask that you park your vehicle outside the working area so the team can carry out the work quickly and safely.

“We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused by this and we’ll be doing everything we can to minimise any disruption during this essential work.”
