Severn Trent strikes gold at customer service awards ceremony

Tuesday 30th November 2021

Severn Trent has been recognised for ‘keeping connected to its customers during the height of the pandemic’ at an awards ceremony dedicated to the customer contact industry.

The water and waste company picked up a Gold Award at the European Contact Centre and Customer Service awards ceremony in London, coming out on top in the ‘Most Effective Application of Technology’ category.

The Technology team won the top accolade for keeping Severn Trent’s customer contact teams connected to customers by swiftly bringing in a new cloud-based telephony solution called Genesys, which allowed teams to work from home when isolating and shielding.

The ceremony took place on Tuesday (23/11), and recognised organisations across Europe that are leading the way in delivering exceptional service to customers.

Picking up the award with his team, Severn Trent Release Train Engineer, Dave Ford, said: “We’ve given everything to deliver this project over the past 18 months, with everyone involved working long hours away from their families, as we knew it was the right thing to do for our colleagues and customers.

“It’s been a real team effort between Technology, Group Transformation and the Customer Contact teams and I’m immensely proud that Severn Trent has been recognised as gold standard, alongside some pretty major household names.”
