Hi, thanks for chatting with us – really looking forward to hearing about your career story. First tell us, a little bit about yourself and about how you came to work with us at Severn Trent?
My name is James and I started at STW in September 2003 as an apprentice. The job advert was in the local paper at a time when I didn’t know where my career was going, and it is the best choice I could have made. Now been here nearly 20 years and currently the lead technician of a workshop.
Can you tell us a bit more about the Vehicle Technician role you’re doing?
We work on a wide range of vehicles and plant, so every day is never the same. One day you will be servicing a truck and the next you could be fixing a JCB on site.
What motivates you in your role?
Setting myself targets and working hard to achieve them and learning new things every day.
What do you love about working for Severn Trent?
Work life balance is very good at STW, and we are very flexible and all work as a team to help each other out.
