The programme has been created with your career break in mind, meaning its main focus is ensuring your smooth transition back into work. You’ll be paired with a mentor to support you once you’ve joined us. You’ll also benefit from being part of our wider Returners Network and have the chance to participate in training at our Severn Trent Academy.

A career returner is someone with existing work experience who has taken an extended career break and is either economically inactive or now working in lower paid, temporary, or part-time work or in freelance roles.

Here at Severn Trent, we’re looking for professionals who have been out of work for at least 12 months or more, for reasons such as parental breaks, family duties, health or caring responsibilities and many more. Unfortunately, if you have worked in a role that is at a similar level during your 12 month career break, you are not classified as a returner.

We’ve got full and part-time roles available. So when it comes to flexibility, this can be discussed in more detail during conversations with our recruitment team.

You’ll have the opportunity to explore and sign up to over 250 training courses at our very own Severn Trent Academy, which can support you with both your personal and professional development. As well as this, you will be paired with a mentor who will guide you along the way and ensure that you’re getting the most out of your programme.

We have a range of benefits that reward and recognise great work and award-winning training to ensure you reach your potential. Along with this, you can expect to receive a competitive salary.

We do accept Visa's, but as a regional business we like to recruit people who are located in our local communities.

Our career returners programme is open all year long, as we understand that everyone is looking for opportunities when the time is right for them. So, register your interest for this programme when it suits you.

If you do have any further questions regarding the role, please get in touch with our recruitment team at recruitment@severntrent.co.uk.
