Severn Trent hailed as a global leader for gender equality

Tuesday 1st February 2022

Severn Trent has been recognised in the 2022 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) for the third consecutive year.

The GEI recognises a company’s commitment to solving gender inequality through policy development, representation and transparency.

The index measures gender equality across five pillars: female leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and pro-women brands.

Liv Garfield, Severn Trent CEO, said: “We believe that a diverse and inclusive organisation is a more successful one. By creating a workforce that’s fair for all, it’ll help us to understand our communities more, which will lead to better outcomes for our customers.

“None of this can be achieved without addressing gender inequality. It remains a key focus for us, as we continue to play our part in building a fairer and equal society.”

The 2022 Index includes over 400 companies across 45 countries and regions. Member companies represent a variety of sectors, including the financial, technology and utility sector.
