Apprentice Project and Change Associate Level 6
Group Transformation is a vital team within Severn Trent working with different business areas to identify change and lead the improvement through to implementation.
Locations: Coventry (will need to travel to Shelton and Derby)
Apprenticeship Programme: Project Manager
Apprenticeship Level: 6 - Degree Apprenticeship
Equivalent to: Full Bachelors Degree
Programme Duration: 4 years
What you'll be doing
As a core member of the Group Transformation team, you will review the company's long term plan and support the submission of our 5 year plans to our economic regulator OFWAT. Group Transformation comprises of Change Managers, Project Managers, Workstream Managers and associates who all work on different projects such as implementing new systems. As a team, we all work together to ensure change is delivered.
During the apprenticeship, you will support:
- The implementation of projects and continuous improvement activities that support Severn Trent’s strategic ambitions and deliver for our customers.
- Project planning and reporting activities and build strong links with business teams, learning what we mean by best practice, developing, sharing, implementing and recording evidence.
The starting salary for this programme is £16,807.
How we'll support you
Training and Development
Your apprenticeship will allow you to develop the skills and experience that you’ll require to become a Project and Change Associate in Retail. During this time, you’ll combine on-the-job learning with formal, nationally recognised development training to gain your level 6 degree apprenticeship. In addition to your core study, we will give you the opportunity to complete and achieve an International Project Management Association (IPMA) Level D qualification or equivalent.
To help you drive and own your career progression, we’ll provide you with Personal Development Plan. This will be set and agreed with your line manager and reviewed regularly in performance reviews.
This apprenticeship follows the apprenticeship standards set out by the Institute of Apprenticeships.

You’ll be someone who rapidly absorbs information and learning, being able to apply it effectively into the continuous improvement activities you support. Developing knowledge and expertise during your apprenticeship, you’ll be someone who enjoys taking an analytical approach to analysing information from various sources, using this knowledge to inform robust solutions and decisions, demonstrating courage to see tasks through in their entirety. The Group Transformation team works with a range of stakeholders across the business so you'll be someone who can develop and maintain relationships, showing care with a wide variety of people over a extended period of time You’ll be someone who is genuinely interested in people, seeking to understand their drivers, needs and expectations.
