We believe that our approach to corporate responsibility complements the objectives of both socially responsible investment funds and those mainstream investors seeking companies who understand the long term business risks and opportunities arising from environmental and social change.

We respond to a number of SRI questionnaires and also engage in one on one and group dialogues with investors. In 2005/06 we invited investor feedback on our Carbon Management Report and took part in the Insight Investment Biodiversity Benchmark project.

In September 2006 Severn Trent was named a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) STOXX European Index.

In 2006/07 we will engage with investors to explain the steps we are taking to improve culture and controls in Severn Trent Water, the programmes in place to improve leakage performance, our further industry-leading climate change work, and our ongoing health and safety improvements.
