This system sets standards of environmental management and performance where Severn Trent Plc owns, or has a controlling interest in a joint venture which owns, assets. In all other cases it is used as a model to encourage and promote sound environmental practice. In November 1999 Severn Trent PLC gained ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management system. This year we have worked with external consultants to review the future direction of our EMS and how we will integrate the current certified Plc system and STWs environmental management system. We hope to proceed with the recommendations from this report later this year.
